“Being a father is fun but scary. The truth is nobody really knows what they're doing so have fun with it.”
What do you do and what led you to this career?
I am an independent music producer/songwriter. I've always worked in music, entertainment, and fashion. Advertising, marketing, television production, and film all fields that somehow directed themselves back to music, its always been a part of who I am. It was natural for me to end up here, producing and songwriting.
What is the name and age of your son?
My son’s name is Noah, and he is two years old, coming close to the threes.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being a father?
The most rewarding? Waking up.. Watching a human grow. Being a father is a reward itself, it's a complicated thing to explain because it's easy to contradict yourself you sometimes hate the things you love about fatherhood, and other times you miss the things you hate. I can say that being a vital conductor of another humans morals and values or just being a part of your child's life story is a priceless reward.
And what is the most challenging?
Balance! I'm usually in studios late nights, and I get up early mornings. My wife and I typically Deal with bipolar like tantrums in the mornings, so I have to be alert enough to defuse situations before they start and energized enough for playtime throughout the day. Balancing work and life has been a challenge because both are constantly evolving and Noah is a new more advanced version of himself every day.
What has been your greatest career achievement thus far?
Most significant career achievement thus far is definitely on the horizon I've signed NDAs tho, so we will keep whats hidden, hidden for now.
What is your best advice for someone new to your industry?
Work the hardest on the things you believe in and don't give in to the pressure of uncertainty or desperation caused by anxiety. It's easy to feel like you need to be the greatest at what you do. And you are you just need to follow what you feel, be humble, work hard, practice patience, help others along the way and perfect you. Be your own competition.
What is your best advice for a new dad?
Be ready for anything and reserve your patience for your kids. Being a father is fun but scary. The truth is nobody really knows what they're doing so have fun with it. Also, always keep in mind that you were a kid once too … never let that go.
What is your current favorite activity with your son?
A game we sometimes call "Firetruck police shark". It's a game where we take black panther and Captain America and fight off all the other toys While also operating a firehouse that sends out police cars and firetrucks so we can both put out fires and revive all the other toys after all the damage is done. Also, there's a shark involved … he only eats bread though.
